SAN ANTONIO - The Texas Attorney General's Office named a San Antonio man a "most wanted child support evader" this month.
John Lowry, 55, owes more than $127,000 to support his three children, according to the Attorney General's Office.
Lowry was ordered to pay $657 a month in child support, but has not paid since 2001, when he made an $85 payment.
The Attorney General's Office named Lowry a "most wanted evader" because he has the means to make the payments but refuses to do so.
But Lowry‘s list of alleged crimes against children does not stop there.
In 2003, a Bexar County grand jury indicted Lowry for aggravated sexual assault of a child, but he failed to show up for trial.
"This is a very dangerous person. Not only has he violated a child's rights, he's also been on the run for over a decade," said James Keith, Bexar County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
Lowry's last known location was San Antonio, but investigators have received information over the years that he could be in Abilene, Dallas, Houston or Libya, where he may have family.
"That's what happens in some of these cases. People get desperate. They flee. They leave the country," Keith said.
In 2007, Lowry's sister filed a missing persons report because she hadn't seen her brother in more than year.
In 2014, U.S. marshals adopted the case to launch a nationwide search for Lowry, who might be going by the name Muftah Abdullah Shebani.
"This is somebody who has no regard for the law and has no regard for making anything right," Keith said.

Thoughts? This is a unique case as we don't have too many alleged child molesters who are wanted for child support evasion as well, but that just adds to what a dirtbag this guy allegedly is. Obviously, there is concern if he fled to Libya, it does not have an extradition treaty with the United States, however Libya has a somewhat better relationship with the U.S. than other Middle Eastern countries. Especially after the 2011 Libyan civil war and strong cooperation after the 2012 attack on the U.S. liaison office in Benghazi:

So in my opinion, this may be somewhat similar to Cuba in that there's been a thawing of relations and the chances of extraditing a fugitive back here went from no chance in hell to perhaps a chance in hell. So even if you have information of Lowry in Libya, I would still do the right thing and call the Marshals or the Texas Attorney General's Office. Hopefully, Libya doesn't want a child molester in their country either. Of course it would be even better if Lowry was still in the states and caught so we wouldn't have to worry about extradition.
