In 2000, the LAPD says that Samuel Calvario was arguing with his girlfriend inside a truck. A Good Samaritan named Daniel Felix saw what was happened and tried to intervene. Samuel became angry at Daniel and as a result, shot Daniel to death.
This case got back in the news last August when a local resident was browsing the Los Angeles Most Wanted website and thought she recognized Samuel Calvario as a man she knew. That man, Guillermo Torres was arrested in July but DNA that was compared to Calvario's child proved that Torres was not actually the fugitive. Torres was released but is considering possible legal action due to what had happened.

Thoughts? It's wonderful that people are doing the right thing by looking up their local most wanted websites and seeing if they can identity any fugitives at large. It's not 100% accurate as people have been mistaken to be fugitives in the past, such as the actor who played Sophie David in her 1992 AMW profile. I feel bad for Guillermo Torres since the investigation had all the right intentions, it was just directed at the wrong person. Samuel Calvario is still out there somewhere and has gotten away with Daniel's murder for 16 years. That needs to change.
If you have information regarding the whereabouts of Samuel Calvario, then contact Los Angeles detectives at 323-846-6556.
