Authorities in Colorado are seeking answers in connection with the cold case murders of two Columbine High School students at a restaurant. AMW aired this case once on Mar 10, 2001 (really surprised it wasn't aired afterwards).
On the morning of Feb 14, 2000, the bodies of 16-year old Stephanie Hart and 15-year old Nicholas Kunselman were found in a Subway Sandwich shop in Jefferson County, Colorado. A co-worker of Nicholas discovered the bodies. Stephanie had come around midnight the previous night to pick up Nicholas, her boyfriend at the end of his shift. She had snuck out of her home instead of doing homework. Witnesses described a white male, aged 16-18 years leaving the restaurant through the back door after midnight. He has never been identified.
There are a few possible motives regarding this case. First is that the murders were drug related as the area may have been prone to drug activity. The second is that this could be a case of jealousy. The third is that whoever's responsible for this crime committed it because the Subway restaurant was a few blocks from Columbine High School. I do NOT want conspiracy theorists coming on here and saying that the murders were connected to the Columbine High School massacre and a larger plot regarding that incident, yes there are Columbine Massacre conspiracy theories. It's possible that may have motivated someone to commit this crime. Judging by the age of the person seen leaving the restaurant, all three possibilities would make sense. This could have even have been a robbery gone bad (the articles I bring up don't mention this however).
Thoughts? Something else interesting was a lawsuit filed against the owner of the Subway shop may have turned his back to drug dealing that may have occurred there. (Drug dealers apparently used the restaurant's back door to deal drugs). One of the lawyers on behalf of Stephanie's mother said that Nicholas may have been using marijuana at the time of the murders so that adds some credibility to the drug-related theory.
