Wilfredo Cabel is the last of seven USMS site cases I'm featuring at the moment. He was aired as the original 50/50 fugitive out of Hawaii in 2000, but AMW did do a 1994 episode out of Hawaii so perhaps Cabel was aired back then as well.
In July 1982, Hawaii County authorities say Cabel murdered his friend Hipolito Canezo. Canezo was bludgeoned and shot to death at his home and his body was dumped in a grassy gulch located in a sugar plantation. In 1986, forensic evidence and informants identified Cabel as Canezo's murderer. According to the informants, Cabel claimed that he killed his friend to prevent Canezo from killing him. Wilfredo Cabel fled before he could be arrested and has never been apprehended in the past 27 years.
Thoughts? Cabel would be in his early 70s by now so it isn't very likely he died of old age. It is believed that he fled to the Philippines which would explain why it's been so difficult to locate him.
