(Above photo credit: cityofvancouver.us police department section) On October 31, 1997, Oleg Babichenko was inside his Toyota station wagon in a local Vancouver, Washington neighbourhood. While he was there, a bomb inside his vehicle exploded. Residents tried to pull Oleg to safety from the burning car but he later died of his injuries. Oleg worked in the automotive repair business and authorities believe this murder was the result of Russian auto-theft gangs, even though Oleg had no serious criminal history in the United States. --- Thoughts? Cases regarding Eastern European organized crime are generally not easy to solve as we've seen from AMW as in many cases, immigrants have very little trust in their local authorities back in Eastern Europe so that creates something similar to Stop Snitching. However, the people responsible for Oleg's murder should be considered extremely dangerous, since anyone willing to bomb their victim's car with the victim inside, can be willing to do something similar to anyone. Hopefully someone one day will come forward. (According to the City of Vancouver website- Police Department section) If you have information regarding the murder of Oleg Babichenko then contact Sergeant Jeff Kipp; 360 487-7440 or jeff.kipp@cityofvancouver.us

Another complication is even if the killer becomes known they could be back in their home country by now.
