Former AMW Correspondent John Turchin is in the news after he apparently was unceremoniously fired from his crime reporter job for WPLG in Florida.
According to an anonymous source, Turchin was fired while he was on medical leave following an injury he sustained in December. Turchin badly hurt his ankle and had spent the past several months recovering. He was apparently told there was no space for him at the station and that his reporting skills are no longer needed.

It sounds like they really treated him poorly there, which is sad because I'm pretty sure this is where he worked BEFORE he joined AMW. I hope he's able to get back into the news world (it sounds like he's still recovering and needs a walker to get around). Pretty lousy, if you ask me.
