When John Walsh eventually retires for the television broadcasting angle of crime-fighting, we will need a new fugitive hunting show, unless CNN wants to keep the title of "The Hunt With (New Host's Name Here)". I've been thinking as to what the best idea for a new type of show would be and I was thinking of something similar to the original AMW's layout from 1988-1991. Let's me go into detail.
The original four seasons of AMW usually had two cases each taking up half of a 30-minute (counting commercials) episodes, with sometimes a third unresolved case, as well as brief updates on fugitives who were caught. A show similar to this would lower the production costs needed to film several different segments for one episodes, increase the number of cases profiled since it would hopefully air more than 8 times per year, and possibly make the segments much better.
During the original seasons of AMW, even with two-three fugitives aired per episode, they still managed to get a lot of captures off those 30-minute episodes, so there's no reason why a similar show wouldn't work today with so many fugitives needing to be profiled.
Thoughts?

How about "The Hunt with Scumhunter & HeadMarshal"? Seriously, I get some sort of feeling John Walsh is grooming his son Callahan to take over for him, if you notice his son has had an increased presence on tv and has appeared with his dad in his latest daytime talk show guest appearances. I also think an hour show would have to be necessary because of how many people need help and the breaking news aspect of crime stories. Perhaps they could slow down the pace as compared to AMW, but as much as I love The Hunt, my only complaint really isn't a format complaint but that way too many need help and all that's out there is a show that only does 1-2 cases an episode.
