(Above photo credit: Tennessee Government website- Department of Corrections website) Race: White Height: 5'7 Weight: 157 lbs Hair: Brown Eyes: Hazel DOB: 12/21/1943 -- On May 11, 1983, David was driving while intoxicated in Nashville, Tennessee. He then struck and killed two pedestrians. David pled guilty to vehicular homicide and an unrelated business embezzlement charge. He tried to appeal his conviction in 1985. David escaped from prison in 1986 and has been on the run ever since. -- Thoughts? David thankfully is profiled on the Tennessee Department Of Corrections most wanted escapees page. More information on his case was provided by a Leagle court document. There isn't any information on possible whereabouts or even how David escaped from prison online. David still needs to be finally caught so he can serve the rest of his life in a jail cell and take ownership for what he did that night in 1983. Based on online escapee listing, our advice for anyone with information on the whereabouts of David Brownell would be to contact the Tennessee Department Of Corrections at 1-844-832-3463.

A lot may have changed now that he's about 72 years old, but if he is still alive hopefully he can be caught and justice can be served. (A lot of guys who get caught at elderly ages after decades on the run I admittedly don't care if they get sent back to prison again such as low level property crimes or crimes where no one was killed, since the threat to the public is really no longer there, but everyone knows me and when I get on my soapbox about DWI homicide cases, he took another life and didn't serve a decent amount of time just yet, so we can't let this guy off the hook if he's caught).

A couple of things to add to this thread. A 1983 Newspapers.com article mentioned the names of the victims in this case. They are 20-year old John Keith Robinson and 17-year old William Walton. The Tennessee Department of Corrections website mentioned the date of David's escape was February 28th in 1986. And of course, as of today, September 2, 2020, the Tennessee Department of Corrections website references that David is still a wanted prison escapee. www.tn.gov/content/tn/correction/about-us/most-wanted/escapees.html
