On Dec 4, 2008, Gildardo Lopez and his fellow drug traffickers went to the home of his brother Adan in Tucson, Arizona, demanding to know who had stolen 500 pounds of marijuana from them. The drug traffickers then kidnapped 23-year old Jose Alvarez and 24-year old Jesus Gonzales, and shot both Jose and Jesus to death. Gildardo pled guilty to a marijuana charge and as a result will serve no more than seven years in prison, his brother Adan is still at large however.

Thoughts? I'm not certain from the case's description whether Jose and Jesus were actually involved in drug trafficking at the time of their murders and what led them to have been kidnapped. Regardless of the reasoning, they are still victims and their families deserve to get justice by seeing Adan Lopez tried in a court of law. Adan is likely in Mexico and is probably connected to at least one drug cartel based on his previous criminal activity.
