(Above photo credit: Clovis, New Mexico P.D. archives) Gender: Male Race: Hispanic DOB: 02/24/1975 Height: 5'9 Weight: 200 lbs Hair: Black Eyes: Brown -- On Apr 16, 2000, Cecilio Gomez, Juan Vega and several other men attended a party in Clovis, New Mexico. Outside the residence where the party was occurring, an argument started which is what led Cecilio to shoot Juan to death. Juan had told Cecilio to stop firing his gun after Cecilio and other men brutally attacked another party attendee. Cecilio fled the party in his pickup truck which was later recovered in Marlin, Texas and hasn't been seen since. -- Thoughts? Yet another unnecessary argument that led to a senseless murder, this time the victim was just trying to do the right thing by telling the aggressor to stop. In 16 years there doesn't seem to be any publicized leads that I could find. Marlin, Texas where Cecilio's truck was found is a small town that's not very close to the Mexican border at all so I wonder if he had any friends or family in the community. Based on archived law enforcement websites & online articles, our advice for anyone with with information about Cecilio Gomez's whereabouts is to please contact the Curry County Crime Stoppers at 575-763-7000 or the Clovis Police Department Special Operations Unit at 575-763-9470.

Clovis, New Mexico is of course where AMW fugitive Edward Salas shot and killed a little boy trying to target his still teenage brother. So while not talking bad about a city I've never been to, they're not strangers to senseless violence.

There is no longer a most wanted fugitives listing for the city of Clovis but as far as I can tell, Gomez is still at large as of this update (7/28/2018), since I haven't found anything online suggesting otherwise.
Of course, as always, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are more than welcome to let us know.

As of today, May 29, 2019, there is no court record listing at all under (Gomez, Cecilio) in the New Mexico Public Court Records page, further indicating that Cecilio Gomez is still at large. By comparison, if he was arrested and brought to trial, there would be a file on record in that database. caselookup.nmcourts.gov/caselookup/app

As of today, April 3, 2020, I actually located the 2000 case file for Cecilio Gomez by putting down just the words Gomez Cecillo in the New Mexico Public Court Records (You don't put in a comma between Gomez and Cecilio).
The most recent court entries are "Warrant Validation Complete" and nothing else. This was entered in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Therefore as of today, it looks like Cecilio's active warrant is confirmed.

Cecilio Gomez's warrant was most recently validated in August of 2021, according to New Mexico's court records database. I did not see an UFAP warrant for him in PACER.
