(Above photo credit: LAPD Most Wanted website) Fugitive Profile as of August 24th, 2014 (based on LAPD Most Wanted website): Suspect: Cabrera, Carmen Alias: Torres, Carmen; Torres, Del Carmen Sex: Female Descent: Hispanic Height: 5' 4" Weight: 135 Hair: Black Eyes: Brown Date of Birth: Nov 14, 1960 Who to call if you've seen her: Detectives Flores or Furr, Newton Homicide at 323-846-6556, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. PST, or Newton Division Watch Commander at 323-846-6547. Carmen Cabrera is wanted for the murder of her boyfriend in California. She was aired three times in 2003. Back in 1998, Carmen Cabrera started to work at a Los Angeles clothing factory run by Guadalupe Alvarez. Carmen and Guadalupe started an affair which resulted in Carmen not having to perform any job responsibilities. Guadalupe eventually broke off the relationship which did not make Carmen happy. Carmen then called Guadalupe to her apartment where she shot him to death. She was last seen in the Mexico City area by relatives and friends. So where do you guys think Cabrera is now. She would be in her early 50's by now so while she may have still worked in factories in the first few years while on the run, she's probably retired from that occupation by now. I believe she's living somewhere in Mexico and not drawing any attention to herself. www.lapdonline.org/newton_most_wanted/most_wanted_view/12789Admin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

I was about to say didn't she get captured but realized that was Claudia Cabrera.
The same way cold case fugitives an easy go-to option is saying they're deceased, when it comes to Hispanic fugitives, an easy go-to option is saying they went to Mexico. And I have no other theories other than Mexico.

As of June 9th, 2018, Cabrera is still listed on the LAPD most wanted website, which granted is not the most updated website, but enough for me to reasonably assume that she's probably still wanted as of this update. (Most wanted profile link is the same as in the OP).

Nothing new to add, but I always found it strange that Carmen Cabrera was only profiled three times on AMW, and every profile was in 2003. Once in February, once in August, once in November. Then she was randomly added to amw.com in the late-2000s but she was never profiled after that. Never did figure out what happened there.

That is weird. Maybe they planned to air her again and then never got around to it for whatever reason.

I found the criminal court case against Carmen Cabrera in Los Angeles County's public records. It shows the violation date of November 21, 1998, the same date as Guadalupe Alvarez's murder according to the old AMW website.
As of today, August 29, 2020, that court document shows no movement since it was issued in 1998 and the deposition status also shows as "pending". Therefore we know for sure now that Carmen Cabrera is still at large.

I'm genuinely amazed this case has not been profiled on the FBI's website. There is strong evidence she fled to Mexico, so they need all of the eyes they can get looking for this woman.

Especially since we know abusers don't stop with one victim.

I'm genuinely amazed this case has not been profiled on the FBI's website. There is strong evidence she fled to Mexico, so they need all of the eyes they can get looking for this woman. This post got me curious so I went ahead and checked PACER's records for the Central District of California. Unfortunately, I could not find any listed Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution cases under "Carmen Cabrera". This means one of two things, either an UFAP warrant has never been issued or the records don't go back that far for that district in California. Since she's been wanted since 1998, I'm leaning towards the first explanation. By comparison I found a bankruptcy case from 1996 in the list of search results under what I assume is a different "Carmen Cabrera". So if the LAPD has not asked the FBI/US Marshals for assistance in issuing an UFAP Warrant, then that may be a problem.
