The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office still is searching for Antonio Cortez Love, an Alexandria man wanted on four counts of attempted murder of a police officer after a late Thursday chase in which shots were fired at deputies.
One man, 22-year-old Dorian Oashea Lacour of the 5500 block of Rosemary Street in Alexandria, turned himself in around 4 a.m. on Friday. Lacour was a passenger in a Nissan Altima driven by Love, 26, around 10:20 on Thursday night when deputies tried to pull him over near the intersection of North 18th Street and Bolton Avenue for a minor traffic violation, reads a release.
But Love sped off, and one of the men allegedly fired a gun at deputies from the speeding Altima. Love lost control of the car during a turn at the 20th and Monroe streets intersection, crashing into a utility pole. Both men ran and couldn't be found despite a search by deputies and Alexandria Police Department officers.
Lacour, who is being held without bond, was charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, probation violation, aggravated flight from an officer, three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance I with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance II with intent to distribute, two counts of illegal carrying a weapon with drugs and two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Love, whose last known address was in the 1200 block of Monroe Street, is wanted on warrants that charge him with four counts of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated flight from an officer, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance I with intent to distribute, one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance II with intent to distribute, one count of illegal carrying a weapon with drugs and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
He stands 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair, and he has a tattoo of "HGC" on the top of his left wrist.
He is considered armed and dangerous, according to the sheriff's office. Anyone with information about him or his location is asked to call the sheriff's office at 318-473-6700 or Crime Stoppers at 318-443-7867.
