From the FBI's website:
In May 2001, a white female prostitute was raped in Dayton, Ohio. The victim met the offender in a vice area and agreed to a dollar amount and a crack amount in exchange for sex. The victim and offender entered a motel room that was rented by the offender. During the sex act, the offender became very aggressive, choking the victim and
slamming her head against the bathroom floor. The victim was sexually assaulted and was then told she could leave.
The victim described the offender as a Hispanic male, 40s, clean cut, possibly wearing glasses, and a crack addict, with the possible first name of Vincent. The offender spoke the English language.
In May 2003, an elderly white female was sexually assaulted and strangled in her residence in Marion, Indiana. The victim lived alone in a single-family dwelling in a transitional neighborhood. There was no forced entry into her residence.
In 2004, a case-to-case CODIS hit occurred between these two cases, which remain unsolved. The Marion, Indiana Police Department is requesting any agency with similar cases to contact them, especially cases with partial DNA profiles for comparison purposes.
Agencies with similar cases may contact Detective Sergeant Del Garcia or Captain Jay Kay, Marion Police Department, at 765-668-4415 or dgarcia@marionindiana.us or jkay@marionindiana.us or FBI ViCAP at 800-634-4097 or vicap@leo.gov

Thoughts? What I think will be difficult in solving the case is that the M.O.'s seem to be completely different, assuming it's the same person (the CODIS match seems to indicate it is). On one hand, he rapes a prostitute after metting her. And then in another case, he rapes an elderly woman who lives alone by herself. Of course, all that needs to happen is for there to be another match or an agency to realize they have a known suspect whose case is similar. I wish this guy wouldn't strike again (if he hasn't already), but unfortunately that may be the only way to solve this case. Hopefully it's figured out before there can be any more victims.
