(Above photo credit: bostonherald.com) From bostonherald.com: Police in Salem are asking the public for help in tracking down a man who is accused of opening fire on two police officers during an attempted arrest on Fairfield Street yesterday. Jeremiah Wooden, the suspect in yesterday’s incident, is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, with black hair. Police said Wooden should be considered armed and dangerous. At about 6:15 p.m. yesterday, two Salem officers were trying to arrest Wooden when he allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at them, nearly hitting them. Wooden was able to escape on foot and remains at large. Police recovered the gun from the area. The officers were uninjured. Salem police with assistance from police in Danvers, Marblehead, Malden, Lynn and Salem State University searched the area Thursday night but were unable to find Wooden. Police say they don’t believe he is still in the area and that there is no danger to the public, but are warning that anyone who may come in contact with Wooden to not approach him.
Anyone with information is being asked to dial 911 or call Salem police at 978-744-1212.www.bostonherald.com/news/local_coverage/2016/04/police_hunting_for_suspect_who_fired_at_officersThoughts?
