Basil Chukwuma Onyia

Fled in 2001 from Brownsville, Texas, to Nigeria.
Onyia was charged in 2001 with repeatedly sexually assaulting a mentally handicapped teenage girl. The church placed Onyia on administrative leave and ordered him to move to a rectory in another city in Texas, but he fled to his native Nigeria. He worked in parish ministry there, and remains at large.

Thoughts? That was from a feature from the Chicago Tribune about fugitive catholic priests wanted for sex crimes. Some more information, a McAllen, Texas woman started filing civil action against Basil Onyia in 2001 for allegedly sexually harassing her. There were also alleged moments in 2000 where Basil would treat the women at his church based on different cultural standards between the US and Nigeria (not my opinion but taken directly from a news report). Although no warrants were issued for the above incidents, Basil is still wanted for repeatedly sexually assaulting a mentally-challenged teenager and that is truly, truly horrible.
Sadly it appears that Basil is still in Nigeria where they probably won't arrest and extradite him over there. Heather Uboh had to be lured from Nigeria to Atlanta before she could officially become an AMW Direct Capture. Hopefully someday Basil returns to the US where he can then be caught.
