(Above photo credit: cleveland.com via US Marshals) CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A 36-year-old man who served six years in prison for beating a man to death is accused of raping a child and violating parole. David Fontanez is wanted by Cleveland police and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department. The U.S. Marshals is offering a reward for information leading to his arrest. Fontanez is charged with raping a child on Jan. 15, authorities said. He then failed to report to his probation and parole officers, and was charged with escape, according to court records. Investigators believe Fontanez is hiding on Cleveland's West Side, the U.S. Marshals said. Fontanez pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in a 2004 beating death of a man in an argument over a cigarette. He was paroled from prison in 2012 after serving six years of an eight-year sentence. He pleaded guilty to a weapons charge in August 2014, and served a year in prison. Anyone with information about Fontanez's whereabouts is asked to call the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4WANTED.
Tips also can be sent via text message with the keyword "WANTED" to 847411.www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2016/04/convicted_cleveland_killer_acc.htmlThoughts? Decided to add this as breaking news because of the severity of the case. A guy who served time in jail for killing someone who's now accused of child rape is a very serious threat to the public.
