On Friday, September 14, 2012, at approximately 3:00 PM, the Asbury Park Police Department responded to 1024 Sewall Avenue, Asbury Park, for a report of a shooting. Nijed Johnson Responding officers found that Nijed Johnson, 24 years of age, was the victim of a shooting at that location. Witnesses reported that Nijed Johnson was sitting on the porch of 1024 Sewall Avenue with his girlfriend, when a subject on a bike fired several shots in their direction. Nijed Johnson assisted his girlfriend into the home, but was struck while doing so. Nijed Johnson was transported to the Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he died as a result of his wounds.
