(Above photo credit: newsnet5.com) From newsnet5.com: NELSONVILLE, Ohio - A manhunt is underway for a convicted murderer out of Cuyahoga County who is missing from a prison in southeast Ohio. According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, John Modie was reported missing from the Hocking Unit of the Southeastern Correctional Complex in Nelsonville, Ohio Sunday when he couldn't be located for the 11 p.m. count. The agency confirmed just after 9 a.m. that Modie had escaped from the prison. Modie is serving 18 years to life for a 2003 conviction of murder, robbery and escape. Local law enforcement is working with the Ohio State Highway Patrol to track down the inmate. Authorities believe Modie may have tried to seek shelter as storms went through Ohio overnight.
