"Raul Ortega was first arrested by the feds back in 1997. He was accused of brining 6 kilos of cocaine into Tampa Florida from Colombia. But while Ortega was out on bail, he skipped and headed to the Dominican Republic. Four years later, the US Marshals got a tip that Ortega was sipping drinks at a club in South Beach. They rushed to the location and picked him up. Oretga was throwon into the Hillsborough jail in Tampa while he awaited trial. Unfortunately, that trial still hasn't happened. That's because Ortega escaped on Thanksgiving 2002 and has stayed in the wind ever since."
The above was an AMW radio brief description of Ortega's long history. AMW aired him as a 2-parter on July 6th, 2012 on Lifetime. While searching AMW fugitives, I came across a potential update. Apparently, tips sent in to AMW indicate Raul Ortega may have had gender reassignment surgery.
