Cold Case Report Number 0451311
Victim: James Thomas Little
Age: 48/Black Male
Location: 2410 N. Liberty Street
Winston-Salem, NC
Date of Incident/Death: 10-29-2004
SUMMARY:
Winston-Salem Police Officers were dispatched to 2401 N. Liberty Street in regards to a local business man locating a deceased person lying in the parking lot near the dumpsters at this location. The deceased body was identified as Mr. James Thomas Little. Mr. Little was found to have suffered several apparent gunshot wounds. Mr. Little’s vehicle (a red pick-up truck) was not located at the crime scene but was later located on 27th Street under the US Highway 52 overpass.
Mr. Little had worked for the City of Winston-Salem as a Senior Meter Reader and was well liked by co-workers. Mr. Little frequented the local clubs located on N. Liberty Street approximately three days a week after his work day. Many of the club owners were familiar with Mr. Little and referred to him as “J.T.”.
In the early morning hours of 10/29/2004, Mr. Little was last seen alive on N. Liberty Street at the local clubs.
This case has been aired on Crimestoppers and some evidence has been sent to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Laboratory for testing as recently as 2008.
Crimestoppers has offered up to a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this homicide.

Thoughts? This is a pretty weird case. There doesn't seem to be any reason as to why anyone would want Little dead. Did he get into an argument with someone at the clubs? Robbery gone awry? Whatever it may be, hopefully his case is solved since it's now been nearly 12 years.
