From the FBI's website:
"Jacob Maldonado is wanted for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of a man in Illinois.
On May 16, 2000, Maldonado allegedly shot the man in the mouth after an argument regarding a rifle Maldonado believed the victim had stolen. The victim subsequently died of his injuries.
Maldonado was charged with first degree murder by the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, and a state warrant was issued for his arrest on May 22, 2000. A federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, on March 7, 2001, after Maldonado was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution."

Thoughts? A 2011 article from the Chicago Tribune article goes into more detail: Weeks after Maldonado fled to Mexico, Maldonado's mother told police that Maldonado had been seen by family members in Espinos de Judio, a farming community with about 200 inhabitants in the state of Jalisco, the hometown of both of Jacob's parents. But Jacob's mother and family stopped talking to police soon after Jacob's disappearance -- she told the Tribune that detectives were too aggressive in questioning them. After eight years, the Mexican government finally agreed to extradite Maldonado, yet he still hasn't been captured and Maldonado's victim's family doubts she's concerned.
Hopefully being added to the FBI's website will help change things. It also disappoints me how much Maldonado's family seems to not care about his alleged victim, especially when we don't even know if the guy stole the shotgun in the first place. (Even if he did, he doesn't excuse his murder). If you don't want to be questioned aggressively, don't admit to having seen Jacob. His victim's family will never get to see him again, brutally murdered and his life cut way too short, and you're the ones who are upset because the police are too aggressive with you? Like you're the victims? Gimme a freaking break.
