From waow.com:
WAUSAU (WAOW) - Investigators are increasingly worried about a 14-year old girl missing from Weston since Oct. 11.
Initially, detectives believed Mackenzie Marken had run away from home and someone was helping her hide.
In the days after she vanished, police received tips that Marken was seen at a park and near Mosinee High School, where she is enrolled as a freshman.
It has now been three months since family or friends have heard from her.
"We are concerned and due to the length of time she has been gone, there is the possibility she could be the victim of human trafficking. Often times runaways, often times teens who have vanished, can fall prey to that kind of crime," said Deputy Matt Anderson of the Marathon County Sheriff's Department.
Police have followed up leads in Wisconsin and traveled to Minnesota in search of Marken but have come up with nothing so far, Anderson said this week.
"We hope that by refreshing people's memories, it may generate more tips. We want to have some answers about where she is," Anderson said.
To leave confidential tips, you can call the toll-free Marathon County Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-877-409-8777.
You can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward which should be claimed within three months.

Thoughts? I think it's got to be pretty frustrating for Mackenzie's friends and family. They probably thought "oh, she ran away, she'll be back in a few days." Then days turned into weeks which turned into months. Time is of the essence here if Mackenzie is being trafficked. I hope she isn't, but it is unfortunately a sobering possibility.
