Cesar Villarreal, a convicted felon, is wanted for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of a man in California.
On May 21, 2010, it is alleged that Villarreal, while at a store with his two young daughters, got in an argument with two men. During the argument Villarreal allegedly pointed his gun at both men, who then fled the store. A short time later, Villarreal, while in his pickup truck without his daughters, found the two men a short distance from the store. Villarreal then allegedly shot both men, wounding one and killing the other.
Villarreal was charged with murder by the Superior Court of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, California, and a state warrant was issued for his arrest on June 11, 2010. A federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court, Central District of California, on August 27, 2010, after Villarreal was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
He has previously lived in Baldwin Park, California, and may have ties to Oregon.
Thoughts? This is a case where, not excusing it or putting words in the mouth of a case not in court yet, but I'm going to assume if Villarreal's caught, he's going to claim self-defense (only an assumption). There was an argument, his family was with him, he felt threatened. It's the only possible excuse he could have. The problem with that claim is he allegedly sought the men out without his family present. I'm not saying that's my opinion how it went down, but that is how it went down according to the alleged account. (Also, no reports on anyone else having weapons besides Villarreal). According to the FBI's website, he may still be with his wife and those two children, a 14-year old and 9-year old girl. They don't have those photos but do have his wife's photos on their websites. For the sake of his family, Villarreal needs to turn himself in and defend himself in court. Two young girls should not have to live their life in hiding. That's not a healthy environment. It should be stressed, Villarreal's wife, Obdulia Medina, is not considered a fugitive from the law.
