FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Fayetteville Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect in a 1996 murder case.
Police have obtained warrants for the arrest of Johnny Frank Bell, Jr., 36, whose last known address was in the 1900 block of Dancy Street.
Bell is wanted on charges of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The charges stem from a cold case homicide investigation into the murder of Mark Blackmon that occurred on Oct. 5, 1996 in the 200 block of Colonial Avenue near North Street, police said.
Blackmon was found shot to death.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Bell is urged to contact Detective M. Hardin with the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-391-2529 or Crimestoppers at 910-483-TIPS (8477).

Thoughts? I'm placing this in the fugitives before 2000 section even though Bell wasn't charged until this year. I can't find much details about the murder itself such as alleged motive, etc...
