Family Needs Answers In Senseless Murder
Chris Bartholomew was a young man with many goals. And one of them was to someday work as a police officer.
But on May 20, 2007, a senseless act not only cut Chris' hopes and dreams short -- it cost him his life. Now, the 21-year-old's family is looking for justice.
That night, Chris was out with friends at a Kansas City area night spot. Chris and his friends were known as good kids, but that couldn't save them from what happened next: cops say the details are hazy, but they believe Chris was killed in the crossfire of a gunfight with which he had nothing to do.
Unfortunately, there are few clues to help police identify the shooters.
Investigators on this case are frustrated, because they say this is a hard case to prosecute.
Description Of Vehicles May Generate Leads
Cops in Kansas City, Mo. say there were four cars involved in the shooting that killed 21-year-old Chris Bartholomew.
The first was a Dodge Charger, whose occupants have since been identified.
Cops now want to know who was inside the other three cars: a 2003 Isuzu Rodeo, a 2007 Pontiac G6 and a brown car, which police believe was filled with people aligned with the passengers of the Charger.
Investigators on this case are frustrated, because they say this is a hard case to prosecute.
Det. Janice Heins says the biggest challenge is the fact that there were four cars involved, so many guns and so many people involved who aren't talking.
Det. Heins believes that the only way to solve this case is if the people involved come forward with information.
