On August 31st, 2002, America's Most Wanted profiled the murder of Roger Boisvert, an internet entrepreneur who was killed during an apparent robbery in California. Unfortunately, I could only find a partially cut off archived description from an aggregated data archive- but I'll try to post what I can. Please keep in mind it starts partially cut off and the story may be jumbled/not seem correct in terms of grammar at times (I tried to clean it up as best as I could):
"fertile environment for technological advancements and cutting edge tech thought. Foreigners have often found it difficult to break into the hyper competitive market but one exception was Canadian born Roger Boisvert. Experts say that the internet entreprenuer took the Tokyo businesss world by storm. His take on commercial internet and E-commerce in Japan cemented his place in history and made him a celebrity in the island nation. Friends say that Roger was generous with his time money and knowledge. He even gave back to an organization he knew from back home: The Guardian Angels. They were just beginning to establish themselves in Japan and Roger was helping them to create their first websites.
On September 30th, 2001 business brought Roger to Los Angeles and that evening he dined with a friend, Jim Swanner. Swanner suggested that Roger stay at a hotel by Los Angeles International airport but Boisvert had a recommendation for a hotel in nearby Torrance. The two friends headed towards the hotel but pulled over momentarily to enter the destination into the car's GPS. That's when tragedy struck. Swanner says that a gunman appeared at the passenger side of the car where Roger was sitting and demanded everything the pair had including his cell phone. They both complied but all of a sudden a single shot rang out. Roger was shot in the chest and the gunman had fled on foot. Jim Swanner began driving frantically away from the scene and eventually found a phone and called 911. The 911 tape tells the chilling story. "My friend has been shot! He is dying! He has been murdered!" Roger Boisvert was rendered first aid and was transported to a nearby hospital but sadly he succumbed to the gunshot wound and died.
In the days after his death the Guardian Angels in Los Angeles sprang into action, seeking justice for its' mentor. They hit the streets with copies of a police sketch of the killer. Not much is known about the man who shot Roger Boisvert. Police say that he committed murder at very close range and over nothing more than a few dollars and a cell phone. He is described as a light skinned African American or mixed race Hispanic male with combed back hair and a very thick neck .Bloodhounds tracked him to a nearby neighborhood back in 2001 but lost his trail. No arrests have been made since and police are asking for the public s assistance in helping to identify Roger's killer."

Thoughts? I realize because of Roger's line of work it opens up the flood gates for conspiracy theories but I honestly believe this was a random robbery and just a tragic one. I don't know if the robber's finger slipped or he panicked or what but it makes no sense why he would pull the trigger when Boisvert complied. For what it's worth, I'll post the sketch of the suspect (that I was able to retrieve from the archives) above the admin notes:
