Beloved Grandfather Killed In Cold Blood
Every morning 72-year-old Edward "Eddie" Pollitelli would leave his Canyon Country retirement complex and volunteer at Mama Mia New York Style Pizza and Pasta, a restaurant he had worked at before his retirement. On June 12, 2006, he arrived at the Stevenson Ranch, Calif. restaurant to prepare the menu for the day's business.
However, cops say that around 8:30 in the morning, Politelli was confronted by an unknown assailant carrying a machete. A co-worker told authorities that Politelli had been working in the rear kitchen and was heard saying something like "don't hurt me." Unfortunately, the employee thought he was joking around. Tragically, it was not the case.
Authorities believe that a Hispanic or Caucasian man stabbed and killed Politelli on a narrow cement walkway behind Mamma Mia's. No money was taken from the restaurant and the store was not robbed. Video surveillance from an adjacent Mexican eatery showed an individual walking along the front of the building around the time of the murder, but has not been helpful to cops in providing any kind of positive identification of the killer.
Some witnesses told authorities that a silver Dodge Magnum station wagon was used by the killer to make his getaway, but no one was close enough to get a good look at either the suspect or the vehicle's license plate. He is described as a light-skinned Hispanic or Caucasian male, 20 to 30-years-old, 5'7", about 160 lbs., clean shaven, with short brown spiky hair. Cops say that he carried a large backpack and was possibly also wielding a stun gun.

Thoughts? This was a web-exclusive case on AMW's old website. I apologize since I couldn't find a photo of Eddie Politelli anywhere (I usually like to include a photo of the victim to honor their memory), but we do have the suspect sketch and according to a 2016 article which I'll post in the links below the admin notes, the killer is still at large.
