She was abducted by her non-custodial mother, Susan Gail Carter. Photographs and vital statistics for Susan are posted below this case summary. A felony warrant for kidnapping was issued for her on November 13, 2000. Susan had been involved in a contentious battle over Natasha's custody with the child's father, Ricky Lafferty, and had told Lafferty he would never see his daughter again. Natasha's grandmother stated the child was afraid of her mother and did not want to live with her. Susan and Natasha may be in the company of an adult male. They may have left West Virginia. Natasha's case remains unsolved. Thoughts?

According to CBS news a man named Larry Webb has been charged with murdering Natasha Carter and her mother Susan didn't honestly expect this

Update: BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — West Virginia State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and U.S. Marshals excavated a yard on Kyle Lane in Raleigh County on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, hoping to find out what happened to a little girl who disappeared nearly 24 years ago. Ten-year-old Natasha Carter, known as “Alex,” and her mother, Susan Carter, were last seen around August 8, 2000. At the time of their disappearance authorities said, they lived with Larry Webb, at his home at 126 Kyle Lane in the Mabscott-Beckley area of Raleigh County. In August 2023, just over 23 years since Alex disappeared, authorities searched Webb’s house, removing evidence. They later said they had recovered a bullet with Alex’s DNA from inside the house. In October, Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney Ben Hatfield announced a special grand jury had indicted Webb for Alex’s murder. The child’s body has never been discovered and she and her mother have not been seen since August 2000, authorities reported. Authorities said they had started another search for evidence at Webb’s house around 9 A.M. on Tuesday. Authorities said around 7 P.M. that a body had not been uncovered in the search while excavating in Webb’s backyard. Well at least they found some evidence I was hoping that Natasha Carter was still alive but seems she was deathly afraid of her mother only for her to be allegedly murdered alongside her mother Susan I hope we can kind Natasha remains and even Susan remains so they can at least be given a proper burial Natasha definitely deserves that Susan does to even though she kidnapped her daughter she didn't deserve to be allegedly murdered by Webb two wrongs don't make a. Right

I hope if convicted Larry Webb is terrified in prison this case is horrible and I hope he thinks about his actions everyday before he dies alone and forgotten but remember he faces ultimate judgement in the life after this one

At least they can be given a proper burial like they deserve and at least they can visit and I hope the family has a bit of relief knowing that Webb will face justice in the life after this one

Yeah this is one of the most unexpected conclusions to a parental abduction missing child case I’ve ever seen. All we can do is say at least there is no more not knowing.

I have since read the article and they were killed by Webb because Susan and Webb were arguing over money and my theory is that Natasha was at the wrong place at the wrong time however I do feel for their families and Webb will be seen as the coward he was
