A man featured on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list was last seen in Houston, and officials are offering thousands of dollars for his capture.
Robert Houston Hayes, 56, is wanted for armed robbery, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, parole violation and probation violation. Authorities say he was released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's South Texas Intermediate Sanction Facility in Houston on October 23. He was supposed to check into an El Paso halfway house the next day, but he never made it. An ankle monitor last tracked his location to Junction, Texas.
Now authorities are offering a reward up to $7,500 for information leading to his whereabouts.
Hayes has ties to the Amarillo and Albuquerque, N.M., areas and visited Las Vegas, Nev., during the last year.
In 1998, Hayes was convicted of sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Nebraska.
Hayes is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 185 pounds. Hayes has multiple tattoos, including a bicycle/unicorn on his back; dove on his chest; spider web on left hand; and "Robert Hayes" signature on left leg. He also has a scar on his forehead and may wear glasses.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.

Thoughts? Robert "Houston" Hayes. Escaped from Houston. Last seen in Houston. Houston, we have a problem. For anyone confused by the thread title, Hayes is also wanted in New Mexico for probation violation and failure to appear. (What I'm confused by is those New Mexico warrants were issued months before his Houston escape when he was still living in the halfway house- couldn't someone have just called the halfway home or come to get him? It's not like it wasn't known where he was. You'd think if he had to serve out this time first, then they wouldn't have issued a warrant for failure to appear. If someone can clarify my confusion- feel free to inform the website at our admin note link at the bottom of this posting)
Anyway, this is obviously a very dangerous fugitive. Remember, one of those New Mexico warrants are for armed robbery and aggravated battery- so while being a sex offender is bad enough, he's also an overall dangerous alleged fugitive as well. And escaping from the halfway house ups the danger. Now Hayes knows if he gets arrested again he may not ever get out. And that would mean nobody's safe. So if you know where Hayes is, be very careful, but do call, or submit a tip in electronic form, to Texas DPS.
