(Above photo credit: FBI.Gov) Fugitive Profile as of January 27th, 2016: (Based on FBI.Gov wanted poster) Date(s) of Birth Used: April 30, 1983 Place of Birth: Armenia Height: 5'9" Weight: 150 pounds Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown Sex: Male Race: White Nationality: Armenian Remarks: Karapetyan has ties to Armenia and may have traveled there or to Russia. TIPS: If you have any information concerning this person, please contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate. From the FBI.Gov website: "Yegizar Karapetyan is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of a man on September 2, 2003, in Sacramento, California. Karapetyan, along with three accomplices, who have since been arrested, allegedly surrounded a man, pistol-whipped him, and stabbed him repeatedly with a large knife and Phillips head screwdriver. The victim died at the scene. A local arrest warrant was issued for Yegizar Karapetyan on September 5, 2003, by the Sacramento Superior and Municipal Court, District Court of California, County of Sacramento, California, after he was charged with murder. A federal arrest warrant was issued for Yegizar Karapetyan on September 30, 2003, by the United States District Court, Eastern District of California, Sacramento, California, after he was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution." Thoughts? I found another article on the case and apparently the murder happened as the result of a argument in the case. Yegizar's brother Daniel was also a fugitive in the case. The FBI traced both Daniel and Yegizar Karapetyan to various countries, including Armenia, Russian, France and Belgium. Then, in November 2011, FBI agents were contacted by Belgian authorities who had arrested Daniel Karapetyan on charges unrelated to the 2003 murder. Daniel was extradited to Sacramento less than a week later. Yegizar, however, remains at large. There is hope here in the FBI seeming to be able to track them well enough in the past. It's just we have to hope the country Yegizar winds up is cooperative as he seems to be all over the map possibly hiding in both countries with extradition/relatively easy extradition and without extradition/difficult extradition. www.fbi.gov/wanted/murders/yegizar-karapetyan/viewwww.abc10.com/story/news/local/2013/11/22/3679377/Admin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

With this case, it's Russia that I'm concerned with. Clearly some fugitives like Juan Elias Garcia and Gerard Zalewski, flee other countries close to their native country to not draw too much attention to their relatives or to throw off authorities.
But clearly these guys are all over the place and If his brother was arrested in 2011, I hope they were traveling together, and I also hope Yegizar is still somewhere in Western Europe.
This guy really makes a good cold case Fugitive to add to the FBI Top Ten, but I'm skeptical, because of the fact that he's probably travelled to Russia, and don't get me started on the history we have with fugitives in Russia.
But again Mogilevich was buddy-buddy with the oligarchs there and Karapetyan isn't, so perhaps they'll send him back.

Yegizar Karapetyan has been tweeted by the FBI Most Wanted twitter page. This case has been left out in the dark for sure.

Yegizar Karapetyan has been tweeted by the FBI Most Wanted twitter page. This case has been left out in the dark for sure. I would have to respectfully disagree that the case has been left out in the dark, it's on the FBI website and they worked to capture his brother. I would say because there's so many violent cases on the site perhaps he may be overlooked by some when viewing the section, but I don't think the FBI has been ignoring it.

The fact that the FBI does have him on their site is pretty good attention, but I would like to see a documentary done on this case or him being featured on The Hunt soon, to get a detailed look into Karapetyan's life and why he did why he did.

Asking for a documentary is a bit much- you only see that with top 10 fugitives like Jason Derek Brown and Yaser Said, and while not excusing his actions, I don't see how this case has enough detail to warrant a documentary- it's a killing that allegedly stemmed from an argument. I don't see how you can do at least an hour on this case.
As for The Hunt, perhaps it would fit on the show, but unlike AMW, there is a very limited amount of air time to which The Hunt can only profile 1-2 cases for 8 episodes a year.

As of July 16th, 2018, Karapetyan is still listed as a wanted fugitive on the FBI's website. (Same link as in the OP).

While we're on it, and reading my comments, I wanted to clarify I wasn't saying this wasn't a tragic case but that in my opinion it would have been hard to do an hour on a case where the motive is not complicated. If In Pursuit wanted to do a half hour, I'd be all for it.
