21-year old Kenneth Ray Banks is wanted for two separate murders in Colorado that occurred within just a few days of each other.
Early in the morning on November 20th, 2015, a double shooting took place outside the Mountview Bar & Grill in Aurora, Colorado. The shooting occurred around 1:40 am. According to local news reports, an argument took place outside the bar at that time.
The victims were the man and a woman. While the man would survive, the woman, who is still unidentified as of this posting, would not.
Weeks would go by with no official suspect- until police named Banks- a man who was ALREADY a known suspect in a separate homicide- as the suspected shooter.
The second homicide Banks is alleged to have been involved in occurred just three days later on November 23rd, 2015.
Banks is suspected of shooting and killing 23-year old D'Andre Mayfield on that day. Mayfield was found shot to death in his car on 47th and Peoria in Aurora. Although no motive has ever been released that I can find, the distance between 47th and Peoria to the bar of the other murder scene is estimated at only eight minutes, according to westword.com
And although I can't find any alleged motive in any news reports, it was obvious Mayfield was beloved, as multiple friends posted somber tributes on Facebook in memory of him.
Despite the local publicity and strange circumstances regarding the two murders, Banks appears to still be at large as of this posting.
Thoughts? I think the fact of the matter remains Banks allegedly killed two people, and could have killed three. One could even make the argument that based on his alleged shootings he's a borderline serial killer at this point. While the woman's name wasn't released, one can only assume there are people who loved her, and we already know there are TONS of people who want justice for D'Andre Mayfield. It's very important to get this alleged killer off the streets as soon as possible, as it seems obvious that if he can allegedly try to kill three people in less than a week, then he's not going to stop anytime soon.
