Parental abduction cases were rarely aired on AMW, probably because AMW tended to only air them if there was a possibility that the child(ren) were in serious danger. This week's entry will start the profiling of some of the more serious cases as we go along with the non-amw fugitives.

In 2007, Portland, Oregon authorities say Jesus Merino-Leyva abducted his three-year old son Jesus Mendoza. The father, who goes by "Chu Cho" is considered to be mentally unstable and had previously inflicted domestic violence upon the boy's mother. He told her that if she called the authorities, he would kill himself and the little boy. Relatives also believe that if cornered by police, he will kill the two of them. A cousin said he gave the two a ride to Merced, California on the day that Mendoza disappeared. He said the two of them were trying to get to Mexico.
