TULSA, Okla (KFSM) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a former Bentonville swim coach in Tulsa County, Oklahoma.
Stephen Duwel, 50, is wanted for lewd molestation and soliciting child pornography, according to court records.
The charges were filed Wednesday (Nov. 18).
According to the district court in Tulsa County, pending arrest, a bond of $65,000 has been set for Duwel.
Duwel has been arrested before in Benton County, on a charge of sexually assaulting a juvenile.
Duwel, the former Northwest Arkansas Aquatics Sharks head coach, was arrested in July, after police said he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy.
Police documents showed Duwel had met the Northwest Arkansas teenager on the application “Grindr.”
Grindr labels itself as a service for finding local “gay, bi and curious guys.”
The police report said the boy had set his age as 18 on the application, but later told Duwel he was only 14.
Police said Duwel proceeded to meet with the boy several times, and performed a sex act on the minor.
Thoughts? The reason I'm placing this case in the fugitives on tv section is it was profiled on the website of the syndicated crime show "Crime Watch Daily." I don't see any number to call for tips yet, so for now I'd recommend calling your local police and/or crime stoppers line. Another article say the charges in Oklahoma are similar. Once again he met a teenage boy on Grindr, in this case a 15-year old, and allegedly took him to a hotel room after meeting at a hookah bar. This guy is obviously not going to stop contacting young boys and needs to be taken off the streets as soon as possible.
