Violet Taylor, 82, Cathy Scott, 60, Barbara Scott, 80, and Michael Scott, 59, were discovered in the Pendleton home in which they lived around 12:30 p.m., according to NBC affiliate WYFF in South Carolina. The victims were all related. "This was very violent. Very violent deaths on all four of them," Anderson County coroner Greg Shore told the station. There was no sign of forced entry in the home, and the daughter of two of the victims reported that the back door was open, he said. "She said that was very unusual. Usually they keep the house locked down, even when they're at home," Shore said. "I do believe that the person involved was welcomed in or came in, and that's when the homicides took place." Three victims were found in the den, and one was in the bedroom. "They were all on the floor, but the house was not disturbed, other than the area where the victims were laying," Shore said. The Anderson County sheriff's department is treating the case as a quadruple homicide and is looking for a suspect or suspects. Taylor's sister-in-law, Marjorie Morgan, told the Associated Press that the victims were all nice people. "I don't see them hurting a fly," she said. "That's why I'm shocked." "As far as we know, there is no danger to the public right now," Anderson County sheriff's department Lt. Sheila Cole told the station. Thoughts? What makes this case baffling is how seemingly normal the Scott family was only to be gunned down so violently. Mike Scott worked for the department of transportation while Cathy stayed home and took care of their elderly mothers. The coroner's office suggested a few defensive wounds but the agency is limiting details due to it being an ongoing investigation. What I also don't get is the murders are believed happened sometimes between noon and 3 PM on a Sunday. I've never been to Pendleton, and I don't know if they lived in an isolated house or not but how did anyone not hear anything on a SUNDAY afternoon? Figured I should move this case to the Unsolved on TV section Based on it being on NBC's National News website.

Those are all great questions and welcome back by the way lol, but once again a lot of times these are questions that would be impossible for me to answer unless I was an investigator on the case itself. It is entirely possible all of your questions were done but that information hasn't been made public. Investigators have their reasons for not disclosing information. Sometimes it is for good reason, and sometimes they're being too secretive, as sometimes a detail being finally released to the public helps solve the case. No idea if it is the former or latter here. So yeah just for future reference if I know an answer, I'll answer it, otherwise I will simply acknowledge and like your very well-thought out questions

Thanks in advance for your attention brought to my message No as I mentioned elsewhere I might not respond to your questions in the future not out of rudeness but because I don't know the answer. I'm not trying to insult our site, but this is a message board and many of your questions are something only detectives can answer.
