Kingsley Ogohukwu Ogbonna, a web-exclusive case on AMW's old website, is wanted by the Dallas Police Department. Police say a woman was lured into Ogbonna's apartment, only to be allegedly raped by him. Police say he may be in Buffalo or Canada, and according to court documents Ogbonna would be 42 years old as of this posting.
However, he's something weird I think adds a little more detail to this case. The bond for Ogbonna was issued on February 24th, 2001. In 2007, a woman from the District Clerk's Office says that she saw something showing the warrant was served to Ogbonna in jail on June 19th, 2005. Yet she didn't see that was possible since there was nothing indicating he had been in jail since 2001. She then asked if she had to issue another warrant.
So my question is, since the court case itself shows a blank disposition for the result of Ogbonna's case, it means he's likely still wanted? So how is it a guy who's wanted for rape has something showing a warrant was served to him, yet there's no indication he was ever in a Dallas jail? And how is it there's no further court documents since 2007 on this case?
Ironically, this is the same court that gave me a hard time when I tried to confirm a warrant for a side project for another fugitive. Perhaps they should be more worried about keeping track of wanted alleged rapists than denying the public information they legally should have access to.
If somehow this case is resolved, please let us know. But it doesn't appear to be, and those court documents are just baffling.
