Vitman met Brooks while the later was on vacation in Russia. Brooks immediately fell in love with her and didn't want to wait for her to get the necessary paperwork to become a citizen. He smuggled her in America illegally on his boat to Florida. They began club hopping, exploring Miami's exotic club scene. After a while, Vitman decided to heat things up by introducing another woman to the mix. While it started off as fun, things became serious when Vitman fell in love with the woman. Brooks eventually felt rejected, and soon stopped paying for Vitman's extravagant lifestyle. Vitman was furious. Even though they were on the verge of breaking up, Vitman convinced Brooks to come over to a hotel for one last night together. While Brooks slept, Vitman pulled a gun out of her purse and shot him in the head, killing him. Vitman was questioned, but fled before the police could arrest her, abandoning her female lover. In 1995, after AMW first profiled Vitman, she turned up in Amsterdam, and surrendered to authorities. They arranged to have her extradicted back to the U.S., but Vitman changed her mind and left the hotel authorities set her up in. She hasn't been seen since. My guess is that she's still somewhere in Europe, maybe some neighboring country of the Netherlands, since I doubt she stayed in Amsterdam too long. She has no reason to come back to the U.S., and since she hated living in Russia, I can't see her going back there. Thoughts? I see her in Europe as well. Not sure which way she swings now but I also see her with a new boyfriend or girlfriend.

It did occur to me that there's a possibility she might be disguising herself as a man. Looking at her, I think she could pull it off

There's a couple of fugitives I feel that way about. Kind of off-topic but for some reason I get that feeling about Cathy Morales. Ms. Vitman could certainly pull off disguising herself as a man. I actualy thought about putting her in the look-a-like thread with NBA star Dirk Nowitzki, but thought that might be too mean and in poor taste. But she does look like him.  |

After her cold feet incident in Amsterdam, were there ever any other solid leads in her case?
I agree Europe is the likely hiding spot, but the question is where in Europe.

I found out via PACER search oddly that the unalwful flight to avoid prosecution (UFAP) warrant was actually dismissed back in 1999. Surprising to me considering the odds she may be in another country, but who knows what the reasoning was.

Yes she does sorry I should have mentioned that lol. Hmmm…. This is a thinker as to why they dismissed the UFAP warrant. My best guess is they had information she returned to Florida, but that’s just a guess. |

Yes perhaps you never know. Also off-topic but just in case even though so far no actually has been still sorry if anyone was offended by what now I feel in retrospect are immature comments I made about Vitman's appearance 8 years ago. Normally I'd delete these type of comments but it was a year or so after I retired from my borscht belt act so I prefer to own it and stress I've matured since then.
In fairness I feel people accused of murder usually are more fair game to be insulted than others but still.
Getting back on topic, I know Vitman stayed on the amw.com website for years even after the UFAP warrant was dismissed, so a bit confused since as terrible as the case is you'd think they would have removed her from the site.
