A Kentucky man wanted in connection to an officer-involved shooting that left a deputy wounded over the weekend has been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top Ten Most Wanted list.
Floyd Ray Cook, 62, of Lebanon, Ky., faces an attempted murder charge in connection to the Saturday shooting that took place during a traffic stop in Putnam County, TBI spokesman Josh DeVine said Monday.
On Saturday, officers with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department responded to an officer-involved shooting after authorities say Cook shot Officer Ahscari Valencia. Cook fled to Kentucky, where he was allegedly involved in another shooting incident with law enforcement officers. He was able to escape on foot in the area of Highway 61 south of Burkesville, close to the Tennessee-Kentucky line.
Authorities described Cook as a white man with brown hair and blue eyes, 6-feet tall and 160 pounds. Cook should not be approached and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about Cook's whereabouts is urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463). There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
