(Above photo credit: lostnmissing.org) Athena Curry, who would now be 22 and a mother of a young child, has been missing since May 27th, 2011. Her case appeared on the August 17th, 2012 social media request episode of AMW on Lifetime. She reportedly disappeared from her boyfriend's Atlanta house when she left at 3 am after an argument. Linked above is her AMW airing which YouTube mentions was uploaded by a phone, so it isn't the best quality, but none of that matters if anyone can send the crucial tip to bring her home. www.amw.com/missing_persons/case.cfm?id=80485Admin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

According to Charley Project, Athena had an abusive relationship with her boyfriend. Considering he was the last known person to see Athena, this appears to be another case of domestic violence turned murder. Problem is that if it's true, there's no evidence that would warrant the boyfriend's arrest. www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/curry_athena.html

I want to be very careful before accusing anyone because the fact of the matter is, no one has been charged in this case. If it is ever discovered what happened to Athena, then we can start to deduce what happened.
That's not to say she didn't have a volatile relationship. But she also reportedly left his house at 3 am in the morning. That's a dangerous time of the night for any girl to be alone, especially one using public transport. What's not to say someone with bad intentions didn't offer her a ride? I'm not saying her boyfriend is a saint or even that he wasn't involved, but right now we just don't know.
I do one thing, and that the best case scenario, her running away is highly unlikely because she would have not left her son behind.
I hope one day Athena's family can find out what happened, as John Walsh says the not knowing is even worse than getting the bad news.

I don't have any news to report but I wanted to clarify something I said on this thread in April. I might have been incorrect in selecting "appears" as the word to bold in my original reply. I should have mentioned that the typical domestic-violence murder was a possibility in this case but anything is possible. I wasn't trying to say that her boyfriend was responsible beyond a shadow of a doubt.
I just wanted to say this just in case someone else reads this thread in the future and calls me out regarding my comments about Athena's boyfriend.

Crime Watch Daily did a segment on Athena's disappearance earlier in the week. They mention her volatile relationship with her boyfriend Yusef Mujahid and his alleged physical abuse towards her. And it turns out Crime Watch Daily couldn't interview him because he was in jail after three separate incidents involving two other girlfriends! At the same time, police found no physical evidence of foul play at Yusef's house, further compounding the mystery. crimewatchdaily.com/2017/09/13/devoted-atlanta-mother-goes-missing-after-late-night-altercation/
