Wow considering this is 1992 I was surprised to see a clear picture and non-grainy video. I don't speak German myself, but still really interesting that they showed part of the AMW re-enactment. They ended with him too.

They ended with him too. I was impressed it wasn't grainy which is why I'm very astonished. What they said is that Bishop went on the run on March 1, 1976, after murdering his wife age 37, mother age 68 and his 3 children. Also some more things I found, Bishop's father's gravesite online. He apparently he was born in 1903 in Illinois and died on March 17, 1969 in California at the age of 66. His mother was born in Canada (we all know that) in 1907 according to her findagrave.com profile. This is very telling because it gives a new possibility of where he may be. here's a link William Bradford Bishop Sr. www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=123116234Lobelia Bishop www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=121614110

That is certainly a good find. As I have said earlier, I don't believe Bishop is in Europe but what do I know?

Bishop could be anywhere in the world at this point either living or 6 feet under, Whether in Europe, or Canada, or here in the states.
Illinois is probably the newest theory here as his father was born there in 1903 and nobody suspects he's there, but again on The Hunt, they did say Bishop felt more at home in Italy than in the states, which is why he wanted a promotion because it's super expensive to live in Montgomery County, Maryland, which is where he lived and it still is expensive as hell (because it's actually where I live currently). Bethesda is actually the most expensive place to live in here in the area.
If he had gotten a promotion it would have meant higher pay or relocating elsewhere like Europe. Italy is probably a bit cheaper and more easier to live in than here. Looking at it from a potential financial motive would be the reason why he took out his entire family, but again it could be anything that set him off.

Does anyone put much weight in the more outlandish theories that he was framed and didn't kill his family?

Does anyone put much weight in the more outlandish theories that he was framed and didn't kill his family? None whatsoever, based on his personality description from co-workers, and investigative work mentioned on The Hunt. (The hardware store purchase, the attempted hiring of a hit man etc...) I think Robert Fisher killed his family also, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick Fisher as being the innocent/framed one before I'd ever pick Bishop.

I actually agree Fisher would be the innocent/framed because It was clear when Bishop starting writing letters to an inmate, i forgot his name, but he asked him to kill his family while he was overseas and the inmate said "what are you? Nuts? We don't kill children and this was also mentioned on The Hunt.

The fact that Bishop is a licensed amateur pilot. Since he is a pilot, I believe he probably might have been putting that experience to good use and became an agricultural pilot, like a crop duster on someone's farm until he was unable to do that because of old age or other reasons.

Unfortunately it's another March 1st without Bishop in custody. 41 years ago now since Bishop wiped out his family. I guess it's fitting why it's very cloudy today. He's spent little over half his life as a fugitive if he's alive.

Well here's my new theory about Bishop. Since Bishop was fluent in Serbo-Croatian, my guess is that Bishop fled to Yugoslavia after the murders and either fled Yugoslavia in 1990/91 because of the wars that had gone on at that time or he unfortunately became a casualty in that war and I say unfortunately because he may be amongst the thousands that died and we probably never know for sure. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yugoslav_Wars#

It's certainly possible, although I don't know what it was like back then, there were plenty of European countries he had some sort of connection to that were more historically "scenic" to choose from. Him wanting to start a new life for himself would indicate to me him wanting to go to a more desirable location. But once again, he is like Jason Derek Brown in that just about anywhere in the country or the world makes sense as opposed to some fugitive who you figure are only in Latin America, North America etc...

I agree, Bishop loved Italy a lot, he felt at home while he was there. He did some post graduate work in Florence, and later on would be stationed in Milan and Verona.. I think

I exchanged a brief email with James Bruno to mark the 41st anniversary of Bishop's crime. He seems to be of the same thinking as most of us here, that this crime will never be solved. "Sometimes justice never catches up with evil".

"Sometimes justice never catches up with evil". Wow that's great that you have contact with Mr Bruno and had the opportunity to chat on the 41st anniversary. Personally I'm still holding out hope since Whitey Bulger wasn't arrested until the age of 81, but at the same time I'm realizing the window for capture or locating him deceased is quickly closing.
