In the early afternoon hours of August 6, 2004, five inmates escaped from the Frio County Jail in Pearsall, Texas. The men apparently crawled underneath two perimeter fences during an hour-long recreational period. Helicopters and search dogs were called in, but authorities initially had no luck with locating them. That would all change as all but two would soon be caught. To the best of my knowledge, Luis Angel Garcia-Esparza, 24 years old at the time, and Jorge Arturo-Castaneda-Silva 23 years old at the time, remain at large.
Luis Garcia-Esparza was awaiting trial on conspiracy to distribute marijuana and Jorge Castaneda-Silva, who was awaiting trial on charges of possession of marijuana.
Thoughts? Based on articles, I'd recommend calling the US Marshals (1-877-WANTED-2) if you know anything about these guys whereabouts. If these two aren't at large anymore, please contact the site with proof and we'll move them to the captured section. While I don't know about Garcia-Esparza, where delivering a banned substance is one thing, I'm assuming Castaneda-Silva must have been caught with a boat load of weed since I don't really understand why even he felt the need to escape on a relatively minor charge even for Texas. (You have to be caught with 5 lbs or more to get more than 2 years based on what I looked up, the fact that he was to go to trial indicates this was probably the case.)
