Timoteo Cueto Hernandez, accused of molesting a young boy, is one of Leelanau County Michigan's Most Wanted fugitives. He was aired on the February 23rd, 2008 episode of America's Most Wanted. Unfortunately, I was only able to retrieve an archived description which I've fixed up and edited somewhat but I feel it pretty much sums up the case. This is pretty much after Hernandez enters the boy's bedroom:
"Cops say that an intoxicated Hernandez entered the boy's room while he was sound asleep and quietly attempted to rape him. Police say the child woke up and began to protest but Hernandez threatened to hurt him if he did. Leelanau deputies say that the child put up a fight and after many unsuccessful attempts to sexually assault the young child Timoteo finally left the bedroom. Leelanau deputies say Hernandez calmly walked past the roommates who were unaware of the terrible crime that had just occurred within the walls of their home.
Cops say as he walked out he took a set of car keys with him. Deputies believe Hernandez drove off in a green 1992 Buick LeSabre which was owned by his neighbor. Cops say that the neighbor allowed Hernandez to drive the car to and from work each day but that was the extent of their agreement. Detectives tried to track Hernandez's whereabouts for days but weren't able to get a ;ead on him until May 10th, 2003. That's when Grand Rapids police found the green Buick abandoned at an intersection in their city. That same day officials confirmed that Timoteo Hernandez boarded a Greyhound bus headed to Mexico. Leelanau deputies notified police departments and agencies from Indiana to Texas but Hernandez never resurfaced. That is until an alert tipster contacted AMW in February 2011.
In February 2011, an AMW tipster spotted Timoteo Hernandez in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Cops couldn't find him but he may still be in the area. According to their tip Hernandez was recently staying at a homeless shelter in Grand Rapids. In March investigators went to each and every rescue mission in Grand Rapids but Hernandez was nowhere to be found However multiple people were able to confirm that Hernandez had been in the area just a few weeks earlier. Authorities aren't entirely sure Timoteo Cueto Hernandez is their suspect's real name. He's undocumented in this country and has been known to use other aliases including Humberto Solis. Hernandez has not been seen since February 2011 but thanks to the AMW faithful cops just need one more tip to bring this fugitive to justice.
Thoughts? A 2015 article confirms Hernandez is still at large and still one of Leelanau County's Most Wanted. Unfortunately the archive didn't include additional info like height, weight, etc., a google search lists him as 59 on a criminal records page, but I don't know how accurate that he is. He at least looks like he's in his 50's or 60's for what it's worth.
UPDATE: I could find no new articles since 2015. However, since I found nothing online to suggest otherwise, Inl feel it is reasonably safe to assume that Hernandez is still wanted as of this update (7/20/2018). Of course, if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
Admin Note #1: Based on wanted location, our advice for anyone with information on Hernandez's whereabouts would be to contact the Leelanau County (Michigan) Sheriff's Department.
