From the website fugitivekillers.com (slightly edited): Kareem Jobbar Lightbourne is most wanted for the murder of 23-year-old Kirk Ennis and the armed kidnapping of 24-year-old Monifa Smith. According to Broward Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit, Monifa Smith was able to escape her abductor, Lightbourne, then notify police that Kirk Ennis had been shot in her apartment. The Lauderhill Police responded to Smith's apartment where they found the body of Ennis. An arrest warrant was then issued for Kareem Lightbourne, charging him with following felonies, Murder in the 1st Degree, Armed Kidnapping, and 2 counts Grand Theft in the 3rd Degree. Purportedly, Monifa Smith had cohabited with Kareem Lightbourne at 4160 NW 21st Street in Lauderhill, Florida. However, Lightbourne moved out of the apartment in early November of 2002. On December 1, 2002, Smith met Kirk Ennis at a Dania Beach restaurant. Smith had known Ennis for about a year, and evidently, the two returned to Smith's apartment to spend the rest of the night together. However, indubitably motivated by jealousy, Lightbourne entered Smith's apartment between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., shot Ennis, and kidnapped Smith at gunpoint. After kidnapping Smith, Lightbourne then drove the woman around for approximately two hours before she was able to escape her captor near a grocery store on State Road 7 and call 911. Although all defendants should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, Kareem Lightbourne should be considered armed and dangerous until arrested. Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of this alleged fugitive murderer should immediately call Broward County Sheriff's Office at 954-786-4361, or anonymously to Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477. Tipsters may be eligible for a $1,000 reward. www.fugitivekillers.com/south/murder-kidnapping.phpsheriff.org/posts/post.cfm?id=7145d561-76ef-4d24-b22b-a6c13ce5fd71pas.fdle.state.fl.us/pas/person/viewWantedPerson-103833954.awww.tcimail.tc/crimestoppers/wanted/Kareem%20Lightbourne.pdf Admin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

Thoughts? Going to get my first weekly exclusive case out of the way a day early since I'm not sure if I'll be busy tomorrow. I am surprised this case never made AMW considering it's from over a dozen years ago. According to the Royal Turks and Caicos website (they are a British Caribbean island located just south of the Bahamas), Lightbourne boarded a flight to Providenciales, an island in their Northwest region. After that, he went to Haiti, where a relative is alleged to have married a Haitian national. Part of me wonders if that is the reason Lightbourne still hasn't caught, however, he has connections in West Palm Beach as well, so a special alert to our readers there as well since it's always possible he could have fled back there (in my opinion).

Fugitives like Kareem Lightbourne always especially anger me, Kirk Ennis was killed simply because he was a target of Kareem's jealousy when he was simply being a good friend to Monifa. People like Kareem really put those who want to have a friendship/relationship with someone who recently broke up with their last partner in a troubling position.
Also Kareem is 6'7 which should make him stand out, even in a nation like Haiti where there hasn't been too much luck arresting fugitives there.

Briefly checked NewsLibrary and found out in 2005 that a man was arrested at his grandmother's funeral because he was believed to actually be Kareem Lightbourne. Wasn't actually him but I'm sure that was an awkward situation for authorities back then.

I'm always befuddled when people as tall as Lightbourne aren't able to be found - they stick out like a sore thumb!

As of today, February 5, 2020, Kareem still has a listed homicide warrant in the Florida Statewide Warrants Database. The link can be found in Scumhunter's above post from January 29, 2018.

Found out there was a UFAP warrant for Lightbourne but it was dismissed on January 7th, 2016. The reason given "due to the age of the matter and that there are no investigative leads or activities pending." ecf.flsd.uscourts.gov/doc1/051115964691It doesn't specify with or without prejudice but there is a mention of a sealed entry. In most of these cases, unless the fugitive is believed dead, they usually dismiss without prejudice and can always bring the UFAP warrant back. I am hoping some leads came out of the In Pursuit airing at least.

This guy reminds me of Andre neverson in the fact that both of them were involved in violent murders and they're both from the Caribbean but now are behind bars
