Cruz-Soria Gonzalez is wanted by the Salt Lake City Police Department for stabbing a man to death after a fight. He was aired on the June 15th, 2002 episode as a commercial break case. (The episode also featured the Elizabeth Smart case, also out of Utah) Unfortunately, that's all the info I have as AMW for some reason never uploaded his profile onto their website. However, a search of Utah's Right to Know website seems to confirm he's still at large, as there's no disposition (meaning result) listed next to his court charges. Thoughts? Admin Note #1: amwfans.com can really use additional information on this case for discussion purposes. If you have any updated info, such as height, weight, current age, etc... for Cruz Soria-Gonzalez, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form
Admin Note #2: If you have any tips on Soria-Gonzalez's whereabouts, our advice based on wanted location would be to submit an anonymous tip to the Salt Lake City (Utah) Police Department at the following link: www.tipsubmit.com/WebTips.aspx?AgencyID=935&HR=http://www.tipsoft.com/index.aspx?p=webtipswww.utahsright.com/chargesprofile.php?id=3315772

I'm thinking the murder must have happened either the week of the episode or shortly before, because Tom Morris actually narrated the segment. They generally didn't use correspondents to narrate brief segments unless it was breaking news.

As of this posting date (1/26/2018), Soria-Gonzalez name still comes up as wanted in Utah's online statewide warrants search. According to the search, he would be 38 years old as of 1/26/2018. secure.utah.gov/warrants/results.html

It's weird how there's virtually nothing about this case anywhere. You'd think somebody would have something!

It's weird how there's virtually nothing about this case anywhere. You'd think somebody would have something! I even checked Newslibrary (one of the archived newspaper sites I do case research on) and they didn't even have any articles about Cruz Soria-Gonzalez. I even searched just "Cruz" "Gonzalez" "Murder" in their search feature just in case an article only had a partial last name and nothing. Really weird as you think there would be at least coverage from right after the murder.

I FINALLY found an article on Newspapers.com that goes into more information!
The article states that on March 11, 2001, 24-year old Evaristo Cardenas was shot and killed with a 22. caliber rifle. By March 15, 2001, investigators feared that the fugitive may have fled the United States. The article referred to the fugitive as "Cruz Soria Patino" at the time so I'm assuming that's an alias. He was 22-years of age when Evaristo was killed.

Found out there was actually UFAP issued for Soria-Gonzalez according to PACER search but the case was terminated on August 27th, 2012. However, it appears the warrant was dismissed without prejudice since there's something about substition of attorney in 2015 listed as well. Hopefully I read that correctly. ecf.utd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/DktRpt.pl?117176745799772-L_1_0-1
