Richard James Bell was aired as a commercial break case on the May 11th, 2002 episode of America's Most Wanted.
Bell was added as a tacked- on profile after a segment on the Alabama Drug Task force, which showed a snippet of their day-to-day operations.
Agents from the 35th District Task Force in Alabama say that Richard James Bell sold marijuana to an undercover agent on March 15, 2001. Agents did not arrest him during the sting. When they went back to get him, he had moved away.
Thoughts?
While not condoning his crime, I take it the reason made AMW was only because of the segment on the drug task force, and also, the selling marijuana to an agent, while relatively minor compared to most crimes AMW shows (once again not, condoning it), was a violation of Bell's parole for third degree robbery.
As far as I can tell Bell is still at large as of this posting date (9/19/2015), and the old archive no longer lists what his age, height, etc, but there are still a few clues listed including he used to work at Burger King in Monroeville, Alabama, and AMW for some reason specified that the girlfriend he was living with at the time was white. (Why, I have no idea, unless they thought at the time his preferences for women was a possible clue).
Thoughts? Even with 8 seconds, surprised that as far as I tell he was never caught.
