If you have any information concerning this person, please contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate. Saif Al-Adel, one of the FBI's Most Wanted terrorists, might have been after after 9/11 on AMW but at the very least was a web-exclusive case. Below is the wikipedia description of Al-Adel's alleged history: Saif al-Adel (born 11 April 1960/63) is an Egyptian former military colonel, explosives expert, and a high-ranking member of al-Qaeda who is still at large. Adel is under indictment by the United States for his part in the 1998 United States embassy bombings in Kenya. According to the indictment, Adel is a member of the majlis al shura of al-Qaeda and a member of its military committee. He has provided military and intelligence training to members of al-Qaeda and Egyptian Islamic Jihad in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Sudan, and to anti-UN Somali tribes. It is possible that his trainees included the Somalis of the first Battle of Mogadishu. He established the al-Qaeda training facility at Ras Kamboni in Somalia near the Kenyan border. He was one of the masterminds of the assassination of Egyptian President Anwar Al Sadat in 1981, and left the country in 1988 to join the mujahideen in repelling the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. He is believed to have traveled to southern Lebanon along with Abu Talha al-Sudani, Sayful Islam al-Masri, Abu Ja`far al-Masri, and Abu Salim al-Masri, where he trained alongside Hezbollah Al-Hejaz. In Khartoum, Sudan, Adel taught recruited militants how to handle explosives. Along with Saeed al-Masri and Mahfouz Ould al-Walid, he is believed to have opposed the September 11 attacks two months prior to their execution. Married to the daughter of Mustafa Hamid, they have five children. Since 2011, he has been connected with the kidnapping of the journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002. On 29 February 2012, Egyptian authorities arrested a man believed to be Adel at Cairo International Airport, but the man was later identified as Mohammed Ibrahim Makkawi. Thoughts? For anyone wondering, Al-Adel opposed the 9/11 attacks because he (accurately) predicted inciting the U.S.'s wrath would hurt Al-Qaeda's worldwide efforts. What makes Al-Adel a huge concern is he seems to be among the smartest of the most wanted terrorists on the FBI's list. web.archive.org/web/20121109074820/http://www.amw.com/fugitives/case.cfm?id=25302www.fbi.gov/wanted/wanted_terrorists/saif-al-adel/viewen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saif_al-Adel#cite_note-9www.katu.com/news/national/122189249.htmlAdmin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

Here's a photo from 2000 of Al-Adel. There has been much speculation as to who he really is, Saif Al-Adel is just a pseudonym (nickname/alias), He was an explosives expert in the Egyptian special forces with possible training from the former Soviet Union, However on the assassination of former Egyptian president Sadat, it says he fled after his murder, but that a connection wasn't ruled out. On WTOP they did this piece where they said that a "revered" field commander of that group is rumored to have emerged in Syria upon Russia engaging there. wtop.com/national-security/2015/11/mysterious-al-qaida-figure-emerges-in-syria/The guy is very savvy for sure, but things will start to catch up with him eventually. There are numerous possible theories as to where he may be, he may be in his native Egypt, in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Syria, and even Iran. A lot has come out that he is probably either there hiding, was swapped in a prisoner exchange between Iran and militants or is currently detained by Iranian authorities, which explains why he hasn't been rotated on the FBI site in so long.

Obviously, it would make huge news if he was ever officially confirmed caught or killed, but because it is new site policy to mention we're assuming when a fugitive is still at large in our posting or in an update, no matter how obvious it is, just wanted to officially reflect that as of this update (7/14/2018), Al-Adel is still on the FBI's website as one of their most wanted terrorists. (Same link as in the OP).

Saif Al-Adel wasn’t the only one that opposed the 9/11 attacks, it was also Mullah Mohammed Omar, the now deceased Former Taliban leader. Mullah Omar, though his government committed numerous human rights violations and his group’s insurgency took the lives of thousands of our soldiers, he disliked the fact that Bin Laden was taking refuge in Afghanistan, while planning an attack on The United States, this apparently went back as early as 1997 that he was planning the infamous attack.
In reality, Al-Adel had more in common with Mullah Omar, then he ever did with Bin Laden. Which makes me wonder if Al-Adel is in Syria or he likely defected over to the Taliban since AQ has lost Afghanistan.

It is concerning if true since he is arguably a lot smarter than previous leaders. But as you said earlier, things catch up to all these guys eventually.

Sorry I forgot to reply to this, but not only is he smarter, he’s a military strategist that unfortunately could make Al-Qaeda more dangerous. This basically weakens Zawahiri’s position If the rumors aren’t true but also if the rumors of Zawahiri’s death are in fact true, it leaves Al-Adel as the only “old school” militant and therefore if he became leader it shouldn’t be surprising, as well as giving Iran a bargaining chip should they want to negotiate with the U.S. as Al-Adel is believed to be there.

Israel has done this with several terror suspects before, but I am wondering if Mossad will arrange for Al-Adel's death in Iran.
