This was inspired by a recent post I made in the 2002 guide.
As we all know, AMW has aired thousands of cases over the years. Some of these cases vary in length, with some being just a few seconds, while others taking up entire episodes.
But how many cases can you think of that have a full profile that was only aired once? And I don't mean by once and they were captured; I mean fugitives whose cases were aired multiple times, but many of those profiles were shortened.
I'm also not counting fugitives that had a huge profile when they first aired only to have small parts cut out later on. (Like how Mikhail Drachev's original profile was the only one to feature the victim's girlfriend being interviewed; or how Dan Hiers' first profile was the only one to mention the vacation getaway he and Mila took the week before she was murdered)
Here's a couple I have:
Anthony Chang - As I mentioned in the 2002 guide, Anthony Chang's only full profile aired in September 2002. He had three more profiles, but the three remaining ones were all shortened; his profiles in November 2002 and September 2003 were both APBs, and his profile in January 2003 was APB-length. I've speculated that perhaps his ex-wife, who was interviewed in the full segment, may have gotten threats or didn't like something about the original profile, because clips from her interview were never shown after the initial airing.
Craig Oliver - Jon Leiberman reported on Craig Oliver for the first time in July 2007. But the remaining three of Oliver's profiles (July 2008, February 2009 and June 2010) were all in APB. What's interesting is that all three of those profiles contained a new clue that wasn't in Oliver's original airing; video of Oliver making a presentation in front of a city board. Not entirely sure why Oliver's full profile was apparently permanently cut down, but it's interesting nonetheless.
Paul Eischeid - Okay, this one's a little complicated, in that Eischeid's full profile was actually not his original airing. For years, Eischeid's default profile was the Operation: Black Biscuit story with Eischeid's profile tacked-on at the very end. Finally, in August 2007, Eischeid got a full profile after he was named to the U.S. Marshals' 15 Most Wanted List. This profile actually featured more clips from an interview with the victim's mother as well as investigators specifically talking about him. It was also the first time it was mentioned on-air that Eischeid was actually a decently-paid stockbroker during the day. I don't believe Operation: Black Rain was even mentioned. But Eischeid's two remaining profiles were briefs.
Can anyone else think of others?
