Gabrielle Dahm was allegedly abducted by her mother and her mother's parents. The case is on the FBI's website. Below is the FBI's description of the case:
"Leslie Delbecq and her parents, Jeanine De Riddere and Philippe Delbecq, are wanted for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of Leslie Delbecq's daughter, Gabrielle Dahm, from Broward County, Florida, in 2010. Leslie Delbecq is the ex-wife of Christopher Dahm, Gabrielle's biological father. In January 2010, during a court hearing in Florida, Delbecq and Dahm were awarded joint custody of Gabrielle.
However, it is alleged that Leslie Delbecq and Jeanine De Riddere arranged for Gabrielle to be taken from Florida on August 2, 2010, and arrive in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on August 4, 2010. All of their tickets to Abu Dhabi allegedly were purchased through an airline employee, Philippe Delbecq, the father of Leslie Delbecq. On August 4, 2010, Leslie Delbecq failed to return Gabrielle to her father, Christopher Dahm, as stated in the Broward County Court order. Gabrielle is believed to have been moved to Abu Dhabi in violation of the court order that denied Leslie Delbecq's request to relocate to Abu Dhabi with Gabrielle, and stated that Gabrielle is to remain in the United States.
On June 21, 2011, Leslie Delbecq, Jeanine De Riddere and Philippe Delbecq were indicted for international parental kidnapping by a Federal Grand Jury for the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida. Federal warrants were issued for their arrests. "
Thoughts? Leslie Delbecq actually gave an interview with the Miami New Times in 2012. She claims she abducted Gabrielle because of Christopher's criminal past, claiming at one point someone came to their house and threw rocks, and Christopher had a 9-millimeter handgun in a drawer in the house. Christopher admits he does have a felony record, but it does not justify having his daughter kidnapped.
International kidnappings are tricky when it comes to extradition- The United Arab Emirates has no extradition agreement with the United States. Still, there was one case of the UAE's returning an abducted child to the rightful parent. But resolving the case cost the family four years, seven trips from a lawyer, and $250,000 in legal fees.
As far as my personal opinion- I do want to stress this is a discussion website- and it's not our job to state who's telling the truth- but to profile true-crime related cases- who is missing and/or accused of a crime- and give our theories as to whereabouts- or in this case where whereabouts are pretty much known already- to give our opinions on the case while stressing they're only our opinions.
While Christopher admits he has a criminal past, he was initially awarded joint custody, and then full custody once Leslie and her parents fled the country with Gabrielle without permission to do so. So although the motive and justifications are up for debate, if you were to go by U.S. legal definition, Gabrielle was kidnapped.
