In 1998, girls on the swimming team in a Lancaster, PA college were shocked to discover a camera in their locker room were shocked to discover a camera inside their locker room. They went to the man they trusted the most, beloved coach Trites. But shockingly, police say it was Trites who recorded the images and he's been on the run ever since. If he lost a lot of weight, than I can see him blending in a little easier, despite being very tall. Otherwise he's probably overseas somewhere.

I think he has managed to avoid the swimming community entirely. Reason being, he has received bans by several swimming organizations, and I'm sure they would keep an eye out for him as a result. My guess is that he's overseas and has blended into a new lifestyle/occupation.

Very possible. I'm still in shock he hasn't been caught if still alive wherever he is, 6'7" and 250-290 plus lbs would stand out anywhere in the world!

They know he took his passport with him, but left his ID, credit cards, and just about everything else behind. One of the agents assigned to this case says it's "frozen" and not a cold case. Very few leads on him in 14 years.

I do want to stress I'm not criticizing authorities. (I know no one said that but just in case it's accidentally misinterpreted as such from an outside forum reader). Just that if Trites is still out there, I have to begrudgingly give him credit for staying out there still somehow. I'd love to take that credit away soon.

I believe you're absolutely right - he should be sticking out like a sore thumb with his height and build. That leads me to believe he fled the US. I think it also indicates that he has been smart enough to avoid falling into old habits (i.e. He is avoiding anything involving the swimming community).

It is amazing he has not been captured. They are not many people that are his height. How the hell is he that tall ? is it down to genetics. I thought brovold was tall but this guy is very tall. His would have to duck under the doors here in the uk as most doors are 6ft6 and his head would be up to the door frame. The girls who were taught by him were lucky not to be in a locked room with him. How could they fight against someone who is 6ft 7. He should stand out every where and I'm surprised they have not caught him. He is 57 so he probably is not going to be doing the job he used to. I think he may have gone to Europe, possibly Holland due to the fact that Holland has lots of people his height and that he could blend in. Where do you think he is ?

I believe he is somewhere overseas as he would have been caught if still in the states as he stands out. If not the FBI profile mentions Canada Trinidad and the Bahamas as three foreign locations where he may possibly be.

I doubt he’s involved in the swimming community because they would likely be on high alert for him. |

He is probably not in the USA. I think he is in the Netherlands as they are the tallest nation in the world I think. There are many people there that are his height. Yes he should stand out with his height though. You have got to feel sorry for him not for what he did but he probably gets stared at everyday for being that tall if you know what I mean. His height in someway is a disadvantage because he is probably recognisable at his height but he is so lucky to be that tall as he could reach anything. Can you imagine this guy taking you on in a fight. Not only is he tall but his weight as well. He is like a battering ram. Heck he could probably take on Batman. I would not want to be in a locked room with this guy. I mean who would be stupid to enough o take this guy on, he could probably take you out in one punch. If you tried to kick this guy he would just laugh at you and say do it again. He is like a tree. You kick him nothing happens. If he runs into you its probably like a bus. You would be knocked out in seconds. So I wouldn't try to arrest him violently as it would probably end badly for the person trying to arrest him. I think he is in the Netherlands though.

Well at the risk of turning the forum into innuendo- it's often the skill and not size of the opponent- nevertheless this is not a vigilante forum and it is important that the general public never takes any action to apprehend fugitives themselves- but instead call authorities. Even a 4'11" female fugitive could have a firearm on her.
Trites is an imposing figure probably though- which has me also considering the possibility that he committed suicide and they never found his body.
