-- As authorities work to identify a young girl whose body was found on a Massachusetts beach last month, millions of people are immersed in the mystery on social media. The girl, whom authorities believe was about 4 years old and refer to as "Baby Doe," was discovered on June 25 by a woman walking a dog on Deer Island in Boston Harbor, officials said. Her body had been stuffed into a trash bag and was in the early stages of decomposition. An autopsy has been completed but a cause of death has not been determined, authorities said. The Massachusetts State Police, with help from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, posted to Facebook a computer-generated image of what she may have looked like alive. That image has been viewed close to 50 million times and has been shared more than 600,000 times, state police spokesman Dustin Fitch told NBC News on Thursday. And many people have posted potential clues. Those leads are being forwarded to investigators with the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, Fitch said. "The amount of views of this post is a record for us," Fitch told NBC News in an email. "It goes to show the power and reach of social media. This case (unfortunately) is pulling on the heart strings, which I am sure has played a role in having it shared." An updated image was posted to the agency's site on Thursday to reflect new facts about the girl, including her pierced ears "Who she is and where she's from remain a mystery to us," Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in a statement. "We urge anyone with any information on her identity to share it." --- Thoughts? I have been busy with other things recently so while I would be all over this horrible case, I'm now catching up in reviewing the details. Several people who participated on John Walsh's recent Facebook Q&A really wanted The Hunt to feature this story, but the mass media attention from general national news sources will hopefully be the thing that breaks the case wide open. The Hunt as we know cannot update breaking news stories the way that America's Most Wanted could sadly. As for who this girl is, there could be any number of possibilities. As we've seen with other cases like the recently solved Baby Hope NYC Jane Doe, the girl had never been reported missing in the over 20 years that case went unsolved. Her parents may have gone off the grid and as a result, no one tracked this innocent child. John Walsh I believe also suggested at some point that her parents could be illegal immigrants in the US, and even though the victim is white, there are plenty of European nations for instance where she could originate from if that is in fact true. Admin Note: If you have any updated information on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/millions-follow-search-girl-found-dead-massachusetts-beach-n389311*******UPDATE********* Baby Doe has been identified as 3-year old Bella Bond of Massachusetts. Her mother's boyfriend, Michael McCarthy has been charged with murder, while her mother, Rachelle Bond has been charged with accessory after the fact.

Are we absolutely sure the baby is white? Sometimes Hispanic children can be light skinned and this is a computer-generated sketch.
In any case while I hate to assume such a thing this to me screams parental involvement by one or more parties. There is nothing said about any potential sexual assault.
This leads me to believe that the baby was killed by the mother and/or father. Could have been an accident. But still negligence they didn't want to answer to.
There's also the possibility a caretaker or babysitter caused the death of baby Doe.
It is inspiring to see a case like this grab the media attention as opposed to the typical celebrity of the moment.

Also, I really hope not but someone on Facebook had a decent theory that the Megan Everett parental kidnapping case should be looked into here. Her abducted daughter (Lily Bauman) does look a little like the sketch. I'm still hoping for a capture/recovery in that case. But at least The Hunt has Everett on tap for this season in case of that million to one shot but still horrible, horrible scenario.

Decided to dig further into this. Here's a picture of Lily Bauman: Here are Lily Bauman's statistics: 3 years old, white, brown hair, brown eyes, 3'1, 27 lbs Here are Deer Island Baby Doe's likely physical characteristics, according to news reports: 4 years old, white, brown hair, brown eyes, 3'1/2, 30 lbs www.missingkids.com/poster/NCMC/1232607/1Unfortunately, the more I look into this possibility, the more it actually makes sense. The physical features are not that far off. Baby Doe could be anybody, but I am going to send this to The Hunt on the off-chance there could be something more to this.. www.cnn.com/2015/07/08/us/massachusetts-dead-toddler/

She looks white to me but nothing has been confirmed, I admit.
And the similarities to Lily Bauman I agree are striking.

www.google.com/search?q=is+lilly+baumann+the+baby+doe&client=safari&hl=en&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAmoVChMIpsau7ebfxgIVBsyACh2uwQlY&biw=320&bih=416#imgrc=F4yOrCLFJrWcUM%3AAbove link is another picture of Lilly Abigail Baumann Scenario would make so so much sense.. No poison, no abuse found on/ in Baby Doe. Mom (Megan Everett) is on the run due to the fact of parental kidnapping In hopes of reaching Canadian border and crossing over. Megan has kidnapped lilly because of her extreme beliefs about vaccines and how they brainwash children. FBI steps in and issues federal warrant, she cannot cross any border now without getting caught. She hides out and lays low somewhere in NE which is possible since Lilly is not school age yet. With one of the worst winters seen up there and Lilly isnot acclimated to rough cold add in she does not have proper vaccines she comes down with a preventable communicable disease. Now mom can't take her to get medical help in fear of being arrested losing parental rights and most of all control of Lilly so she tries to heal Lilly herself maybe holistically and fails and unfortunately Lilly passes. Now Megan is in absolute shock and grief and fear she brings Lilly to rest by the beach, maybe symbolic to Florida and good times instead of burial. This is my opinionated scenario from day one, being from Florida myself I remember when lilly went missing and when I saw baby doe picture I called the Suffolk county tip line and messaged the FBI .. Then the autopsy info came out and to me it's lining up . In retrospect of this statement I'd like to say, I truly hope Lilly is safe and loved and I'm wrong.

Hi,
First of all, welcome to the forum!
I am in complete agreement Lilly Baumann as Baby Doe makes a lot of sense, for the reasons we thought and now the reasons you've expanded upon.
All we can do is hope we're wrong. It would be such a tragic outcome since there was so much hope Megan would be arrested and Lilly would be recovered initially. Usually cases with a known parental abductor (except in cases where the parent is already wanted for a homicide) don't end like that.
I hope the Suffolk County PD can one day release a statement about whether they've looked into this. And as said again, let's hope it's not Lilly. (Not that a baby still being deceased isn't sad, but at least it means hope we can still find Lilly alive.)

Thank you for the welcome and I'm sorry it is under these circumstances, I'd rather try to catch a bad guy on the run than try to help solve a uid toddler. I too hope they look into this and thank you again.

www.browardpalmbeach.com/news/photos-of-a-baby-with-confederate-flags-and-guns-couldnt-persuade-a-court-to-prevent-a-kidnapping-6451409I just read across this article one more time and Something caught my eye I cut and pasted it but the above link will show whole article. It's about Lilly's dad and lillys paternal grandmother... He'd been born in Long Island but moved down to Coral Springs when his mom, Bonnie, left his dad and followed her own mother to the Sunshine State when he was about 5. That same year, Bonnie got sick. A doctor diagnosed the flu, but when she didn't bounce back, she scheduled a follow-up. That same night, she died. It was an undiagnosed disorder that had turned her red blood cells against her white.

Oh wow, interesting. My big fear is if this baby turns out to be Lilly (once again it could be anybody), considering this Florida, is that this turns into the Casey Anthony case all over again, where we again talk about what we can and can't prove with what did Megan did to Lilly. Although unlike Anthony who didn't abduct her kid, one would think Megan would at least be convicted of kidnapping and that *usually* results in a somewhat stiff punishment.

Oh wow .. In more ways than one .. It will in my mind and I hope I'm wrong, a preventable tragedy occurred but could explain the why no one is claiming her, the why of no explanations of death, the how as well.

I am hoping for that as well. Unless the police aren't saying- they haven't specifically mentioned any signs of heavy physical trauma and/or sexual abuse.
