Alleged child predator Fabien Fontagne was aired on the March 14th, 2009 episode of America's Most Wanted. Below is the archive description of the case:
Texas Cops: Predator Stalks Local Bowling Alley
According to authorities in Henderson County, Texas, Fabien Fontagne, 26, had been at a bowling alley one evening when he met a young teenager and potential victim.
Fontagne introduced himself as Kevin Johnson, one of his aliases.
Police say Fontagne and his new acquaintance, exchanged contact information and planned to communicate in the future, via the Internet.
Cops: Pedophile Flees For France
As planned, Fontagne made contact with the teen and worked to establish a bond with his eventual victim. Police report frequent communication between the two via online chatrooms, webcams and text messages.
Eventually, after a certain level of comfort had been reached, Fontagne planned to meet the teen in person, once again; however, according to the Henderson County Sheriff's Department, the circumstances of this rendezvous had a tragic ending.
Police say Fontagne engaged in illicit sexual behavior with his victim, which he recorded with a video camera.
Detectives from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office charged Fontagne with two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault Of A Child, in October 2003.
He was arrested and faced charges; however, after posting his bond, cops say this French national fled back to France. He has not been seen since.
There is also the possibility that Fontagne has returned to the Dallas, Texas area. Authorities have reason to believe that Fontagne may be relying on family members.
Thoughts? Earlier today, I added Jose Reyes Aguilar, an alleged pedophile from Texas believed to hang out at bowling alleys, to our site. Just wanted to swear that was pure coincidence.
In any case, the chances of catching Fontagne seem to hinge on whether he's still in France or not. While France isn't a non-extradition country, it is a different story with all countries when it comes to their nationals. Not to mention, we had to jump through hoops to finally get Ira Einhorn sent back here, even though we eventually did.
